Conversion records

A conversion record documents that a person embraced Islam, with the date and place of the conversion as the convert declares them, and two witnesses who attest that the convert is a Muslim.

The date of conversion

The certificate states the date and place of the conversion as the convert declares them, and the convert signs a declaration that they are true, so a conversion made years ago and never certified can be recorded.

The witnesses

Both witnesses are adult Muslim men who know the convert to be a Muslim and have heard the convert state the shahada. Each signs the certificate through a separate link sent by email. The application asks for the convert's government identification, which the reviewer checks against the name and date of birth.
