Before you begin
A marriage record attests that a marriage contract (nikah) was made, with its guardian, witnesses and bride-purse (mahr). Records of this type are necessary to prove a marriage, and for claims to the bride-purse, inheritance and the lineage of children. All parties that attest to the marriage must make truthful statements. Read the full notice.
